How the project got restarted in 2014. Thank You Kathy Evans for the tour and inspiration.
Dave and Linda Lester met Kathy Evans while on a vacation camping along Lake Superior in July 2014. Kathy was working as an environmental education director at the Leslie Science and Nature Center in Ann Arbor and she invited us to visit the environmental nature center. We enjoyed seeing the children learning, having fun, and we learned about the programs and nature center buildings and campus. On our return drive home the decision to renew our efforts to start a nature center in the Laurel Highlands was pledged. Soon afterward, Dave started warning people that they would be asked to help get this idea to reality.
