Miles of woodland trails will get our visitors close to nature and provide outdoor recreation.

The basic concept plan for Nathan’s Divide Watershed Education Center is completed. Our next step is to coordinate a marketing and financial feasibility study, and a detailed comprehensive plan for the development of the project.

The results of the plan will answer the important questions such as:

  • How much will the project cost and where can we get the funds to build and maintain the project?
  • Who will be the users? How far will they travel to visit?
  • What indoor programs and displays will enhance the visitor experience?
  • What outdoor recreation is most valuable to the visitors and the communities served?
  • How large is the visitor center, and can it be used all year?

We are asking for volunteers that may be interested in serving on the board of directors for Nathan’s Divide and are looking for ideas for raising start up funding.

Donations will be used to pay for a Comprehensive Plan which would include a Feasibility Study for the nature center buildings and displays, and the Master Trail Plan with a link to the Ghost Town Trail Extension. Our initial donation goal is raising $45,000 to pay for the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan will provide the information on initial construction costs and estimates on lifetime costs and benefits of the project.
