Summer 2020 Outdoor Family Activity

Fairy Houses

It’s not just the fresh air and beautiful surroundings that thrill and inspire, but also the sense of discovery that comes from exploring nature’s wonder.

Artists of all ages are invited to join Nathan’s Divide Watershed Education Center in creating an Enchanted Forest for elves, sprites, gnomes, fairies, and bugs.

Enchanted Forests are filled with tiny fairy houses.  Build one of your own using all-natural materials such as pine cones, shells, branches, flowers, stones, and more. Shells make great bathtubs, bird feathers are wonderful accoutrements for décor, bark and pine cone scales make great roofs and shingles.

Download a free copy of “How to Build a Fairy House”  and check out the link https://fairyhouses.com/ for inspiration.

Have fun exploring, scavenging, and building your fairy house and please remember to help us keep the forest clear of man-made materials, such as toys, books, and plastic fairies.

Thank you!

Details:

Tuesday June 30th 9 am to 12 pm

Each family unit or group can stop by the event table and collect basic supplies. Then you can disperse throughout the forest, collect more materials, and construct your fairy house anywhere along one of our many trails.

We will have copies of trail maps.

Bring a basket to gather materials and supplies from the forest and shore.
